Elementary school fundraising ideas that two or three parents can finish

Volunteer hours are the constraint, not imagination. A $1 pretzel or lollipop sells at carpool. A six-week peer-to-peer campaign does not, unless the PTA already runs one well. Plan on about seven days from order to product in hand. Pick for attention span, allergen rules, and what fits in a closet.

Start here if you need a $1 sale this month

Two parents can run one in-hand SKU. Students sell at the retail price. The group keeps the published share the same day.

Program Price Group keeps (lowest tier) Volunteer load Allergens / constraints
$1 Sweet & Salty Pretzel Rods $1 40% · up to 50% — call us Low — one closet, one weekend Not a peanut-free claim. Four flavors, free shipping.
CIMA Lollipops $1 52% · 55% at 5+ cases Low — 640 pops per case Candy. Shipping included. We do not publish a 60% tier.
America’s Variety Dollar Bars $1 30% · up to 40% — call us Low Made in a peanut-free facility. Classic bar.
Smencils $1 40% Low Non-food. Use when the school bans candy.

Time to cash: about seven days after you order, then money the day you sell. Compare the format on in-hand vs order-taker.

Cookie dough — only if you are in these eleven states

Cookie Cravings ships only to Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Tennessee, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas, and Oklahoma. If you are in one of those states, Cookie Cravings is $24 a unit, groups keep 35% (40% at 100+), shipping free. Outside those eleven states, do not chase an old cookie-dough page — use popcorn or a $1 in-hand item instead.

When an elementary PTA should not sell product

If last year’s chocolate sat in a garage, if you have no closet, or if the school will push student donation pages, run a short read-a-thon or a direct-ask. Then use one in-hand $1 item at the fall festival so you still have a cash night. The full format comparison lives on best school fundraising ideas.
